Regen (Final Fantasy X status)

Regen is a status in Final Fantasy X that restores a small amount of HP to the target at the start of any unit's turn in battle. It lasts until the target takes its tenth turn after receiving the status, unless the status is permanent via Auto-Regen. Targets with Regen have pink sparkles around them.

The amount of HP restored is determined by tick speed (the number of ticks between turns, represented by the pink meters in the turn order display) and maximum HP. The minimum amount of HP restored is 100.

As characters with higher Agility have a faster tick speed, this can result in less HP being restored by Regen per turn, though it can recover more HP overall due to the increased amount of turns. Characters with higher maximum HP also recover more HP, which is especially noticeable on enemies with very high HP, as they can recover over 99,999 HP in one turn.

Regen deals damage instead of healing to the undead and those with Zombie and Poison and Regen can coexist on the same target.

If Regen is applied to a character via ability or item, and SOS Regen activates afterward, the status becomes double-layered. The manually-applied status will be retained if the character is KO'd and even subsequently revived, though they cannot gain health while KO'd as their turn will not come up in the Act List.
