The natural recuperative faculties of the character's body are heightened, restoring HP gradually over time. The effect is temporary.

Description

Regen is a status in Final Fantasy XII that gradually and continuously restores HP to the affected, and is the reverse effect of Sap, abilities that bestow one or the other removing the opposite status. Regen is unaffected by Reverse. The amount increased is a random amount from 1 to the unit's level every 1.5 seconds; this makes it nigh useless in a New Game Minus playthrough.

The formula for the duration is:

Abilities[]

"Auto-Regen" equipment Ribbon (Zodiac), Ring of Renewal, Renewing Morion
Item Baltoro Seed
Spell Regen (White Magicks)
Weapon Healing Rod

Auto-Regen equipment do not provide immunity to Sap status, but both statuses on at the same time causes no overall change in HP totals.

In the original PlayStation 2 version, Stamp can transfer positive statuses as well as negative to any target and thus can be used to bestow Regen when the user has it; this was changed in the Zodiac versions so only ailments can be transferred with Stamp to enemies.

The ally-targeting gambit specifically for this status is called "Ally: status = Regen", while the self-targeting gambit is "Self: status = Regen", and the enemy-targeting gambit is "Foe: status = Regen". In the original version, these gambits can be bought for 50 gil after the events at Draklor Laboratory. In the Zodiac versions, the gambits can be purchased for 70 gil after leaving Nalbina Dungeons.
