Reflect is a status in Final Fantasy X. A reflected character will be protected from most single-targeting spells, as they will bounce back toward the opposite party, targeting a random enemy. Reflect only works against Black Magic, White Magic, and certain spells learned by enemies, including Confuse, Break, Blind, Silence, and Sleep, but not Doom, Berserk, or Curse. It does not affect spells which target the whole party simultaneously like Demi and Ultima, though it does work against spells that individually target each member like the Nul-spells, Hastega, and Slowga. It does not work against Dispel and Auto-Life, nor items, even if their effects are similar to some spells.
If Reflect is applied to a character via Reflect spell or Star Curtain, and SOS Reflect activates afterward, the status becomes double-layered. The manually-applied status will be retained if the character is KO'd and even subsequently revived, which is especially noticeable with Reflect, as it also affects Life and Full-Life (Auto-Life cannot be reflected).
