One of the last members of his race, Red XIII was used as a guinea pig. His fierce appearance is at odds with his caring, and at times cowardly nature. His desire to protect the planet helps him overcome his fears.

Red XIII is a recruitable character in Final Fantasy Record Keeper. He is automatically recruited as the First-Time Reward for completing the Record of Cosmo Canyon, and has appeared in five Final Fantasy VII Challenge Events since the game's release: The Jenova Project, The Battle Arena, Blood Madness, Hidden Resolve, and The Lone Wolf's Lament - Cloudy Wolf.

Abilities
Red XIII is able to use Black Magic abilities up to rarity rank 4, White Magic abilities up to rarity rank 1, Combat abilities up to rarity rank 3, and Support abilities up to rarity rank 5.
His initial Soul Break is Sled Fang. The hair ornament Diamond Hairpin (VII) grants Red XIII access to Lunatic High and the hair ornament Silver Barrette (VII) will grant Red XIII access to Trine.
After Red XIII's level cap is increased he will automatically gain the Record Materia, Reflect Hand. His second Record Materia will be Seto's Will.
Equipment
Red XIII is able to equip the following weapon types: fists, daggers and hair ornaments.
He is able to equip the following armor types: hats, helms and bracers.
He is able to equip accessories.
