Red Mousse is an enemy from Final Fantasy IV.

Stats[edit | edit source]

Battle[edit | edit source]

It possesses a near-impervious defense against physical attacks. It has a single elemental weakness (Fire, in this case). These creatures tend to appear in groups of four, but exploiting their weakness quickly turns the battle in the party's favor.

Red Mousses' defenses are not as tough as in the 2D version (i.e. characters can deal more than 1 HP of damage with their physicals), but they still have high defenses.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Mousse is a pudding-like dessert made of sugar, eggs, and usually some kind of flavoring, such as chocolate. It can also be made non-traditionally with cream as an ingredient.

In the U.S. and Canada, jelly refers to a clear or translucent fruit spread made from sweetened fruit (or vegetable) juice—thus differing from jam by excluding the fruit's flesh—and is set by using its naturally occurring pectin, whereas outside North America jelly usually refers to a gelatin-based dessert.

A marshmallow is a sugar-based confection that, in its modern form, typically consists of sugar, water and gelatin which is whipped to a spongy consistency, molded into small cylindrical pieces, and coated with corn starch.
