Description
The bearer of this certificate possesses vast, expansive knowledge of magic and is deemed worthy of the title of Master Red Mage.
Mastery certificate description
The Red Mage is a job class in Final Fantasy III gained from the Wind Crystal. In the opening FMV of the 3D version, Ingus is depicted as a Red Mage. Red Mages use a wide assortment of weapons, and both Black and White Magic, but are unable to become true masters of either school of wizardry. Red Mages don't have access to Doublecast.
The Red Mage's battle sprite from the NES version is nearly identical to the one used for the class in the original Final Fantasy, but with some additional white trim.
Abilities[]
NES version[]
- Command ability - White and Black Magic Levels 1–4
The Red Mage can use lower level White and Black Magic. This is mainly useful early on, since later the player will unlock more versatile mage classes. They have weak stat progression, and without the ability to doublecast, Red Mages are usually thought to be weak.
3D versions and Pixel Remaster[]
