Template:FFII enemies The Red Dragon shows up as a boss in Final Fantasy II, first in the Jade Passage guarding a treasure chest containing the powerful Yoichi's Bow. Later he may be found wandering around a secret room in Pandaemonium as a random encounter.
Strategy
Despite being the last elemental dragon boss fought in Final Fantasy II, the Red Dragon is surprisingly a bit weaker than the Blue Dragon that preceded it, and the same strategy is very effective. Equip Ice-based weapons or a Blood Sword, cast defensive spells like Protect and Shell, and attack mercilessly with Blizzard spells and Ice-imbued weaponry, pausing to cast Cure every time the Red Dragon casts Blaze XVI on your party. With this attack pattern, the beast will not last long.
