Template:FFII Enemies The Red Dragon shows up as a boss in Final Fantasy II, first in the Jade Passage guarding a treasure chest containing the powerful Yoichi's Bow. Later it may be found wandering around a secret room in Pandaemonium as well as the last floor as a random encounter.
Strategy
Despite being the last elemental dragon boss fought in Final Fantasy II, the Red Dragon is surprisingly a bit weaker than the Blue Dragon that precedes it, and the same strategy is effective. The party should equip Ice-based weapons or a Blood Sword, cast defensive spells like Protect and Shell, and attack mercilessly with Blizzard spells and Ice-imbued weaponry, pausing to cast Cure every time the Red Dragon casts Blaze XVI on the party.
An alternate method of winning is to simply cast a level 8 or higher Teleport.
