Red Bat is an enemy in Final Fantasy VIII. It usually, if not always, appears in groups. It has the lowest HP growth of all enemies in the game, and is thus often defeated with a single hit.

FFVIII Ultrasonic Waves — Ultrasonic Waves.

Red Bat's Ultrasonic Waves inflict non-elemental magic damage and also have varying effects depending on the bat's level. Red Bats lv1–19 can inflict Sleep to one opponent with Ultrasonic Waves, while Red Bats lv20+ can inflict Confuse. When 50% of its HP is depleted, there is a possibility it will use Vampire to suck HP out of targeted member and restoring same amount of HP to itself.

Triple Triad[]

The Red Bat Triple Triad card is a basic Level 1 Monster Card that is also included in the starter deck the player can get at the beginning. The cards can be valuable as they become Vampire Fangs with Quezacotl's Card Mod, useful for making Drain spells.

Chocobo World[]

The Red Bat appears as a random enemy in Chocobo World.
