Story Edit

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

Once a member of the Circle of Knowing, Rammbroes is currently a member of the Sons of Saint Coinach and leads the research into the Crystal Tower and other Allgan relics in the area. Initially, he's just involved in minor sidequests for the Mor Dhona region, and will explain some basic information about the area.

Once the player has completed the quest "The Ultimate Weapon," a man in Revenant's Toll will direct the player to Rammbroes for a job opportunity. It's revealed that he and Cid nan Garlond were looking for adventurers to aid in their investigation to the Crystal Tower. They dispatch the player to seek out rare materials—flawless elemental crystals and aethersand—to devise a method of disabling the defenses at the Eight Sentinels. Once the items are retrieved, it's revealed Rammbroes had also recruited the quirky G'raha Tia of the Students of Baldesion for assistance.

Although Rammbroes does not accompany Cid, G'raha, and the adventurer to the site, he keeps records of their progress into the Crystal Tower, which the player may review at any time by speaking to him.

Spoilers end here.

In the Roegadyn language, Rammbroes translates to "Ram Chest." His surname's component of zaser's meaning is unknown, but the closest known word is zaes, meaning "right", possibly leaving the full name as "Ram Chest, son of Right Valley."
