Raktavija is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII. It is the mark of Cie'th Stone Mission 47 and 62. Three appear in the game: the first can be found Mission 47, which is section E3 of the Titan's Trials; the other two are encountered during Mission 62, and can only be fought by using a chocobo to get to a higher location on the Central Expanse of the Archylte Steppe.

Stats[]
Battle[]
Inertial Barrier.
Raktavija only uses Multicast to pummel the party with magic attacks, and is protected by a barrier unless staggered. On even turns, while the barrier is active, Raktavija casts two different spells between Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Waterga, and Aeroga back-to-back. On odd turns, it will cast four of one spell between Aero, Aerora, Ruin, or Ruinga.
When staggered, if there are party members with status enhancements, Raktavija will cast Dispelga and Slow, then Blizzard and Poison afterwards. Otherwise, it will either cast Fire and Imperil or Thunder and Deshell.
Strategy[]
Due to Raktavija only using magic-based attacks, having the Magic Damper synthesized ability, which nullifies all magic abilities, makes these battles easy; however, it may be costly to obtain the items required for it. Using other Magic Resistance improving accessories still helps a great deal.
Recommended Crystarium level is 10 with party members Fang (leader), Snow, and Hope. The party should concentrate on one Raktavija at a time.
Starting with Premeditation (SAB/SEN/SYN) the party should buff with Haste and Shell. The debuffs to get to stick are Slow and Imperil.
Raktavija can be staggered using Matador (SAB/SEN/RAV) and Relentless Assault (COM/RAV/RAV), but the party should immediately switch back to a paradigm with a Sentinel when Multicast appears. Just before the target is staggered, the party should use Deprotect on him. When the Raktavija is staggered, the player can shift to Strategic Warfare (COM/SEN/SYN) with a Commando attacking while the Synergist buffs the party. Solidarity (COM/SEN/MED) can be used to heal while the Raktavija is staggered. Any offensive paradigm can be used for staggered targets (e.g. Relentless Assault, Cerberus, Aggression), but ones with multiple Commandos should be only used when there is only one Raktavija left. Once the Raktavija recovers from stagger, Fang should switch back to Saboteur.

Etymology[]
Raktavija is an asura (demon) of Hindu mythology who would duplicate himself whenever a drop of his blood touched the ground. His name can be translated to "blood-seed".
