Revives a character at partial HP.

Description

Raise is a magic spell in Final Fantasy VII Remake and "Episode INTERmission". It is the basic spell provided by Revival Materia Revival Materia, and restores a character at partial HP.

Raise costs 7 MP to cast, and can be used by characters with revival materia. Raise can restore an incapacitated character at higher HP than a Phoenix Down can, but has a fair MP cost that means it should not be relied on too heavily. Phoenix Down can be used as an alternative when saving MP or when no character has access to revival materia. Raise can also be used to damage certain "undead" enemies, like the hellhound.

Raise is outclassed by Arise Arise, which brings an incapacitated character to full HP. Arise is therefore more MP and more ATB-efficient, as it will not be necessary to heal a character back to full after they are revived. However, Arise requires a huge amount of AP to learn, and will not be available for much of the game.

Raise can be improved by equipping Healing Carcanet and certain weapons that increase the amount by which characters are healed when using Raise and other spells. Though Raise can be paired with Magnify Materia Magnify Materia to revive all characters at once, there are often much better uses for magnify materia.
