Raise is a Conjurer and White Mage spell from Final Fantasy XIV. It is learned at Conjurer level 12 and serves as the revival spell for the class and job. The spell costs 2400 MP to cast and revives a single knocked out ally in a weakened state. When in a weakened state, players have their attributes reduced by 15% and the effect of weakness can be stacked.
Use[]
Once learned, Raise will become one of the job's most important party support spells in instance content, due to its function of reviving allies. The ability however does have a long cast time of 8 seconds, which often requires players to use the spell paired with abilities that decrease casting times, such as Presence of Mind and Swiftcast.
In end game activities, should a player need to cast Raise when the party is in dire need of recovery, they should use Thin Air in conjunction with Raise to make the MP cost of the spell 0.
Behind the scenes[]
Legacy Final Fantasy XIV[]

Raise in the original Final Fantasy XIV.
Raise appeared as an ability in the legacy version and was a Conjurer spell available for use at Rank 38 and it cost 3 action points to set. The spell revived a KO'd target. When the player is KO'd, they will lose equipment durability. Raised players do not lose equipment durability.

After the release of Patch 1.20, Raise was a Conjurer spell available at level 18. When the ability used, it would revive a single ally. Once raised, players are were afflicted by the Weakness stat, which reduced their max HP and MP by 25% for 3 minutes. If they were killed and revived again during this period, they were afflicted with the Brink of Death stat, that reduced their max HP and MP by 50%. Once the player reached level 48, they would learn the Enhanced Raise trait, which removed the weaken status effect when they used Raise. Raise could be used by all classes for cross class.
Change history in relaunch[]
From the initial relaunch through the entirety of the Heavensward expansion, Raise was a Conjurer spell available at level 12. However, players could not use Raise in battle until they learn the Enhanced Raise trait at Conjurer level 28.
Originally, the spell could be used as part of the game's removed cross class system, allowing it be used by all Disciples of War and Magic, while the only jobs that could use the spell were the White Mage, Scholar, and Paladin. However, despite being a cross class ability, it was deemed useless due to all other classes and job lacking the Enhanced Raise trait.
Once the Stormblood expansion launched, the cross class system was removed and Raise became a Conjurer and White Mage exclusive spell. Due to the aforementioned reasons, the Enhanced Raise trait was removed from the game.
