Rain is a playable character in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and one of two starting units. He is a physically-geared knight with two roles: Physical Damage and Support. He is able to cast some Black Magic and White Magic. He currently has three unit variants: the main one (with which the player starts the game), the Global-exclusive "Demon Rain" unit (which could be obtained during the Night of the Pumpkin event), and the "Hunter Rain" unit (available during a Monster Hunter Explore collaboration).
In both his story unit and the Demon Knight variant, Rain does a 2-hit attack and can generally equip daggers, swords, great swords, hammers and maces, as well as light shields, heavy shields, hats, helms clothes, light armor, heavy armor and accessories.
Rain's job is listed as Knight. He starts the game at Rarity 2★, and comes equipped with a Broadsword. While his role is that of Physical Damage, he has some Support abilities. He is also able to learn Fire and Earth Magic. He has no natural element or status resistance, and as a story character, no Trust Master reward.
He can be awakened up to Rarity 6★. The required materials are as follows:
- 3★: Esper Shard x20, Beast Meat x8, Esper Cryst x5, Litrock x3
- 4★: Beast Meat x20, Esper Cryst x10, Litrock x8, Heaven's Ash x3, Sacred Crystal x3
- 5★: Litrock x15, Heaven's Ash x8, Sacred Crystal x5, Spiritsand x3, Holy Crystal x3
- 6★: Fairies' Writ x15, Prismatic Horn x8, Calamity Gem x5, Rainbow Bloom x3, Divine Crystal x3
Depending on his rarity, Rain has either one (2★), two (3-4★), three (5★) or four (6★) ability slots. He naturally learns the Fire and Stone magics as well as their evolved versions. Moreover, depending on his Rarity level, Rain has affinity to both Black Magic (Levels 2-7) and White Magic (Levels 1-5), thanks to which he can be equipped with Cure or Cura to provide minor healing support, for example.

Among his traits, Rain has three abilities that can be Awakened: Burning Soul, Lava Floor and Leadership.
The first ability, Burning Soul, normally only increases Rain's Limit gauge fill rate by 100%. When awakened, Burning Soul – in addition to the fill rate increase – has an added effect of boosting Rain's fire resistance by 50%. Its requirements are Support Alcryst x10, Support Milcryst x5, Support Heavicryst x1 and 60,000 gil. Its second awakening adds a third effect: it enables Rain to recover MP (5%) per turn. Its awakening materials are once again Support Alcrysts x15, Milcrysts x8, Heavicrysts x2, plus Support Giancryst x1, and 60,000 gil.
Lava Floor, which normally deals earth and fire physical damage (1.8x) to a single enemy, can be awakened to boost the damage amount (?x) – by using Power Alcryst x10, Support Milcryst x8, Power Heavicryst x3 and 120,000 gil. Its second awakening further improves the damage dealt (3x), and requires Power Alcryst x15, Milcryst x12, Heavicryst x5, plus Power Giancryst x1, and 120,000 gil.
Leadership, in its default effect, allows Rain to increase the whole party's ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR (40%) for three turns at the cost of 60 MP. It first awakening reduces the cost to 50 MP, and requires Support Alcryst x20, Milcryst x15, Heavicryst x10, Giancryst x4, and 500,000 gil. It can be awakened a second time.

His Limit Bursts can be classified as damage-type, since it deals 2-hit attack that deals fire-elemental physical damage, either to one or all enemies depending on Rain's rarity level.
Rain's job is listed as Demon Knight. It is a 5-6★ limited-time Rare Summon, available during the Halloween event. Like the other Halloween Global-exclusive units, Demon Rain has access to two exclusive materia — Chilling Aura and Spooky Aura, available to purchase from King Mog at the Farplane.
He is naturally resistant to fire (+25%), earth (+25%) and paralysis (+25%), but weak to ice (-50%). To be awakened to 6★, he requires the following materials: Fairies' Writ x15, Prismatic Horn x8, Calamity Gem x5, Rainbow Bloom x3, and Divine Crystal x3
Unlike his main counterpart, Demon Rain cannot equip daggers, hats, or clothes, and has a Trust Master reward: Infernal Armlet, an accessory that grants ATK +20%, DEF +20% and gives fire and earth resistance (+20%).
Demon Rain has three (5★) or four (6★) ability slots. He also has affinity to Black Magic Lvl 6 (5★) or 7 (6★), and to White Magic, Lvl 4 (5★) or 5 (6★).
