Rain's Halloween variant is overall an upgrade over his story unit. It is focused on more damage and single-wielding, and also has limited damaging and Tank performance. After enhancing his abilities, he becomes significantly stronger and (HP-wise) bulkier, now able to function as a Provoke Tank. He is rather unique in that he forsakes defensive ability (having no defensive passive boosts) in favor of stronger damage; in fact, once enhanced, Demon Rain functions as a potent "Counter Tank" who can dish significant damage after being attacked. Demon Rain is, however, still weaker than other Tanks. To its detriment, this variant does not gain the bonuses from Rain's [[Training the Soul]] equipment.

Still, being able to cover a multitude of tasks can make him useful for newer players or even for missions that require certain kinds of elemental damage or chaining. Template:Sideicon Template:Images

Rain is a playable character in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and one of two starting units. He is a physically-geared knight serving prominently in the Physical Damage, Support and Tank roles, being more geared for the latter two, unlike Lasswell who is more offensive driven. He is able to cast some Black Magic and White Magic. He currently has several unit variants: the story variant "Rain", the Halloween-themed "Demon Rain", "Hunter Rain" (available during the collaboration with Monster Hunter Explore), along with "Vagrant Knight Rain" and "Awakened Rain".

In many of his variants, Rain's default attack is a 2-hit attack with Crimson Saber and can generally use the same types of equipment.

Rain

Rain is astory unit, and his job is listed as Knight. He starts the game at Rarity 2★ and can be awakened up to 6★, and comes equipped with a Broadsword and a Leather Plate. He is classified as a Physical Damage and Support-type of unit. He has no innate element or status ailment resistance and, as a story character, no Trust Master reward.

Being the very first unit on the game, Rain is fairly basic. He uses the Fire and Earth elements but does not have too many strengths or powerful skills. At 6★ he gets an array of decent abilities in passive boosts along offensive abilities, being able to reduce all stats on one enemy or even bestow buffs to all the party. Although he has high HP, and gains a lot more from his signature equipment, this version can barely function as a proper Tank due to lack of adequate abilities. His enhancements do not help much on this task either, instead boosting his damage and support capabilities.

His awakening materials are the following:

Stats

Rain's stats at his highest levels are as follows (with no passive abilities taken into account), along with the maximum amount of stat points that can be increased through pot-enhancements:

Rarity Level HP MP ATK DEF MAG SPR Drop Check*(Maximum burst stone drops per hit)
2★ 30 1144 (+120) 45 (+20) 41 (+8) 40 (+8) 39 (+8) 37 (+8) 3 Burst stones
3★ 40 1542 (+180) 60 (+30) 55 (+12) 55 (+12) 53 (+12) 49 (+12) 4 Burst stones
4★ 60 1990 (+240) 78 (+40) 71 (+16) 70 (+16) 69 (+16) 63 (+16) 5 Burst stones
5★ 80 2488 (+300) 97 (+50) 89 (+20) 88 (+20) 86 (+20) 80 (+20) 6 Burst stones
6★ 100 3234 (+450) 126 (+75) 115 (+30) 114 (+30) 111 (+30) 104 (+30) 6 Burst stones

Abilities

Depending on his rarity, Rain has either one (2★), two (3-4★), three (5★) or four (6★) ability slots. He has affinity to both Black Magic (Lvl 2-7) and White Magic (Lvl 1-5).

Rain's abilities for the most part are extremely limited until reaching Rarity 6★. At which point he begins to learn a plethora of useful skills including Undermine, which reduces all stats from one enemy by 30%, and Leadership which boosts all stats for the party for 40% for 3 turns, making him a valuable buff/de-buff unit. His resilience also increases in the form of larger HP boosts, although he still lacks damage mitigation as a Tank. However, his exclusive-ability equipment gives him more HP to resist hits.

Ability Awakening

Rain has three abilities that can be awakened: Burning Soul, Lava Floor and Leadership.

  • By default, Burning Soul increases Rain's Limit gauge fill rate by 100%. When awakened, its name changes to "Flaming Soul". Flaming Soul+1 adds the effect of boosting Rain's resistance to Fire by 50%. Flaming Soul+2 adds a third effect: it enables Rain to recover MP by 5% each turn. It requires Support crysts as materials.
  • Lava Floor, which normally deals earth and fire physical damage (1.8x) to a single enemy, can be awakened to boost its damage power. Lava Floor+1 and +2 increase its modifier to (2.4x) and (3x), respectively. It requires Power crysts as materials.
  • Leadership, in its default form, allows Rain to increase the entire party's ATK, DEF, MAG and SPR stats by 40% for 3 turns at the cost of 60 MP. Leadership+1 reduces the cost to 50 MP, while Leadership+2 further reduces it to 40 MP. It requires Support crysts as materials.
Limit Burst

Rain's Limit Burst receives four different names depending on his rarity: Flame Sword (フレイムソード, Fureimu Sōdo?), Crimson Slash (クリムゾンスラッシュ, Kurimuzon Surasshu?), Blazing Storm (ブレイジングストーム, Bureijingu Sutōmu?) and Shining Nova (シャイニングノヴァ, Shainingu Nova?). It can be classified as a damage-type ability, as it consists of a 2-hit attack that deals Fire-elemental physical damage. Demon Rain

Demon Rain is a limited-time 5-6★ Rare Summon available during the Halloween events, Night of the Pumpkin and Return to the Halloween Castle. His job is listed as Demon Knight, and his battle roles are Tanking and Support. He is innately resistant to the Fire and Earth elements (both +25%) and the Paralyze status ailment (+25%), but weak to Ice (-50%). Unlike his story counterpart, Demon Rain has a Trust Master reward: the Infernal Armlet, an accessory that grants increases the equipped unit's ATK and DEF by 20%, along with its resistance to Fire and Earth (+20%).

To its detriment, this variant does not gain the bonuses from Rain's Training the Soul equipment.

His awakening materials are the following: Fairies' Writ x15, Prismatic Horn x8, Calamity Gem x5, Rainbow Bloom x3, and Divine Crystal x3

Awakened Rain

Awakened Rain (レイン(覚醒せし力), Rein (Kakusei Chikara)?, lit. Rain (Awakened Power)) is a 5-7★ Rare Summon.

Awakened Rain is a very power Magic Tank who can also serve as a Provoke Tank if required. This variant gains decent boosts on all his stats, having massive bonuses for HP, DEF and SPR at 50%, 110%, 110% respectively with the adequate equipment.

He can also work as a support unit with a 60% buff to all units, which is not as big as those of stronger support units but can be useful if needed, along with a 60% MAG Break, and can even function as a damage unit with abilities scaling off his SPR stat. His strongest attack, Unleashed Focus, deals major 10x magic damage to all enemies, although it locked behind his Complete Focus ability which in turn boosts his SPR by 200% making his damage potential even greater.

He's able to quickly fill his Limit Burst gauge, and be able to use this for either major Magic Damage off his SPR when maxed, or for his Complete Awakening ability which gives a tremendous 200% buff on all his stats, damage mitigation and both HP/MP regen.

All in Awakened Rain is incredibly resilient and can be put to other uses if required. He can also gain the bonuses from Rain's signature equipment.
