Raegen is an optional playable character in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Like Rain and Lasswell, he is a physically-geared knight whose role in battle is to damage the enemy and to support the whole party, although he can also cast some White, Green, and Black Magic related to his elements of choice: Ice and Fire. He has a variant of sorts, as it is a vision summoned by Citra based on his old persona.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Raegen's job is listed as Sworn Eight, while his roles are Physical Damage and Support. A 5-7★ Rare Summon available for summoning since the story event The Ballad of Grandshelt (which originally ran in July 2018 in the Global version). He has no innate element or status ailment resistances. His Trust Master is the passive ability Hero's Vow - Dark, which increases the equipped unit's LB gauge fill rate by 50% and increases its ATK by 30% when equipped with a katana, sword, dagger or greatsword (for a total of 60% if equipped with two of the aforementioned types). His Super Trust Master reward is his own longcoat, classified as light armor (ATK+36, DEF+16, SPR+22, boosts the equipped unit's resistance to Fire and Ice +40%, and gives the passive "Hidden Crimson", which increases LB gauge fill rate by 50%).
Raegen's abilities focus on inflicting physical damage, however, all of his attacks come with an added effect where the bulk of his supportive abilities lie. As he inflicts damage, at the same time he is capable of casting buffs on allies, debuffs on enemies, scanning foes and restoring MP for allies, depending on what skill is used. One of his strongest abilities – useful for chaining – decreases the enemy's resistance to both Fire and Ice by 60%, while his 6★ final skill is a major self-buff for stats, damage reduction and regen (albeit at the cost of his LB bar). Due to his innate Dual Wield and weapon passives, he is equipment-friendly for starting players, and his chaining options and utility make him a solid choice even for veterans.
Raegen's passives focus on weapon masteries providing large ATK bonuses, increased HP and MAG and innate Dual Wield. He also can function mildly as a mage with the common third- and fourth-tier spells, Curaga and even Raise.
His awakening materials are the following:
- 6★ - Calamity Gem x20, Calamity Writ x10, Rainbow Bloom x10, Prismatic Horn x5, Divine Crystal x5
- 7★ - Raegan's Prism x1

- Limit Burst
Darkness Purging Blades of Azure Crimson (闇討チ払ウ緋蒼ノ剣, Yamiuchi wa Harau Hisō no Ken?, lit. Scarlet and Azure Swords Drive Back the Darkness) is Raegen's Limit Burst. As one of the so-called 'CG units', Raegen's Limit Burst is a powerful ability preceded by a FMV-like movie that lasts about 0:08 seconds; however, unlike those who preceded him, he utters a word "kizame" (刻め?, "Shred").
In the sequence, he stands on fire and seemingly dismisses his twin swords into a red and blue aura that envelops him; he turns his back and advances forwards, so that the "aura" slashes his foes. The effect is a 7-hit attack that deals physical damage to all enemies, and reduces their resistance to Fire and Ice for a duration of three turns.
Its damage modifier and how much the enemies' resistance is reduced will depend on Raegen's LB level:
Equipment[edit | edit source]
He can equip accessories.
His Trust Master (the passive ability, Hero's Vow - Dark), and his Super Trust Master (a light armor named Raegen's Overcoat) in the JP version, triggers his Trust Ability "Doubled-Edged Zenith", which increases his equipment ATK by 40% when dual wielding as well as the modifier of his 5-6★ active abilities by (2x).
