R'fhul Tia is a non-player character in Final Fantasy XIV. He is R'majha's older brother. R'fhul Tia is a new member of the Adventurers' Guild who appears during the seasonal event Moonfire Faire.
History[]
Early life[]
R'fhul Tia lost his father, so he helped his mother take care of his little sister, R'majha. He decided to become a strong man to protect his younger sister and support the family in place of his late father. When he went to the Moonfire Faire a few years ago and saw the Cascadiers driving away the Bombards, R'fhul Tia decided that he would become an adventurer.[1]

Haermaga reveals that they have built an obstacle course as the centerpiece of this year's festivities. The organizers of the event believe that the sight of members of the Adventurers' Guild risking their lives to complete an increasingly difficult series of challenges will inspire the younger generation to one day become adventurers.[1]

When Warrior of Light is about to register to compete, a shy young man named R'fhul Tia and his little sister R'majha arrive. The older brother declares his intention to take on the Eorzean Nimble Warrior course. However, only members of the Adventurers' Guild can sign in. Despite not having the necessary credentials, R'fhul Tia manages to convince Haermaga to break the rules, on the condition that the Warrior of Light goes first to demonstrate the correct method for completing the course.[1]

After Warrior of Light has completed the challenge, R'fhul Tia eagerly prepares for his own attempt. R'majha rushes ahead to find a spot from where the two of you can watch her brother's acrobatics. Immediately after placing his foot on the starting platform, R'fhul Tia steps forward to make the first jump. Unfortunately, he immediately falls into the water below. After dragging himself to the beach, R'fhul Tia regains his composure and tries to hide his embarrassment with laughter. His sister is offended by this and leaves in a rage without explaining the reason for her anger.[2]
After searching for the girl, the Warrior of Light finds R'majha on the east coast, having traveled a surprising distance in such a short time. She has explained her frustration by seeing her brother's reaction to his poor performance on the obstacle course. R'fhul Tia has long stated that it is his dream to become an adventurer, and as such, his sister expected him to treat the contest more seriously. She also expresses concern about his plans to leave home in search of fame and fortune. R'fhul Tia assures her that although he may be separated from his family, he will not put himself in unnecessary danger and will return safe and sound.[2]
Moonfire Faire 2019[]

Haermaga welcomes the festivities and offers an overview of all the activities available to fair goers. The centerpiece was a forged version of the Eorzean Nimble Warrior course, which is complemented by two smaller-scale events, the Iron Culinarian Challenge and the Angling Extravaganza. He follows his explanation with a request of a more specific nature, asking if the Warrior of Light would be willing to provide some veteran guidance to R'fhul Tia, the newly recruited adventurer, whom Haermaga suspects is in trouble. R'fhul Tia challenges the Warrior of Light to a battle to see who of you can accumulate four vouchers in the shortest time. At Haermaga's request, Warrior of Light accepts the challenge, hoping that he can give the boy a lesson or two along the way.[3]

The Warrior of Light succeeds in winning the competition. After a brief conversation, Haermaga sends the Warrior of Light to look for R'fhul Tia who had not yet returned. R'majha explains that her brother was seriously trying to win the competition, but she doesn't know how many vouchers he has achieved. She mentions that she saw her brother talking to Beaudefoin.[4]

Beaudefoin says that R'fhul Tia was about to enter the Eorzean Ninja Warrior course. R'fhul Tia climbs the course only to fall in an inglorious defeat with his first jump. R'majha runs, worried that her brother may be injured. While R'fhul Tia is eager to run back and prove that his failure was now just a fluke, his younger sister convinces him to get some rest before taking on his next challenge. Mistakenly believing that he could still win the competition, he reluctantly agrees to her request.[4]
After hearing the news that he had already lost the competition, R'fhul Tia initially reacts with total disbelief, and he soon comes to the conclusion that he has greatly overrated his own abilities. Faced with the indisputable evidence that he still has a long way to go before he becomes a true adventurer, he decides to follow the Warrior of Light's example. Promising his dear sister that he will be more cautious, he thanks her for providing inspiration and a valuable life lesson, and sets off in search of his next adventure.[4]

R'fhul Tia rescued two novice adventurers who were being attacked by an angry beast. Although he fought clumsily, the two adventurers were inspired by him and decided to become his apprentices. This made R'fhul Tia start acting proudly, wanting to impress the two apprentices. During the Moonfire Faire, Haermaga asked Warrior of Light to help R'fhul by serving as an example for him to follow.[5]
R'fhul Tia introduces his two apprentices to Warrior of Light. Although he seems fairly confident that he will succeed in his attempt through the Eorzean Nimble Warrior course, Warrior of Light realizes that the two apprentices and R'majha are worried about him. R'fhul Tia's attempt has ended in failure. After such a fall, he urgently needs help. R'fhul Tia's apprentices do not mince words to express their disappointment with him and soon after they say goodbye and R'fhul Tia cannot understand what he has done wrong.[5]
After speaking with the Warrior of Light and Beaudefoin, R'fhul Tia finally understands where he went wrong: he was so focused on trying to impress his apprentices that he didn't fully commit to overcoming the challenge. To inspire him to do his best, the Warrior of Light chose to show him the course this time. After seeing Warrior of Light completing the course, R'fhul Tia so much follows suit and succeeds in doing so successfully. Seeing his mentor do his best, the pair of apprentices have made peace with R'fhul Tia.[6]
