The Pyralis is an enemy from Final Fantasy III, fought in the Ancient Ruins. As with most enemies, Pyralis has a bit more punch in the DS version than the NES version. He also bears a resemblance to a stereotypical green dragon (or dinosaur). Physical attacks are the way to go in the NES version, while that and Blizzaga works well with dealing with it in the DS version.
