Louisoix Leveilleur: Eorzea was destroyed by a force of unimaginable power raining down from the sky. It is the dawn of a new age!
The following article covers a subject from a previous version of Pugilist Quests that has since been removed.

The following is a list of Pugilist Quests from Final Fantasy XIV version 1.0.

The House Always Wins[]

Journal
  • Gagaruna of the Pugilists' Guild has imparted to you some of what goes on behind the scenes at the Platinum Mirage. He contends that the world of man is comprised entirely of power, love, and money, and the Platinum Mirage relegates its concerns entirely to the last of those three. To learn more of the guild's ways, speak with your first instructor, Titinin.
  • Titinin has given you your first task—collecting loan payments. You have been given a list of several of the Mirage's debtors whose payment deadlines are drawing near. Visit them in turn and see to it that they pay what is owed. Head first to Eshtaime's Lapidaries to find Esperaunce, the so-called King of Plots.
  • You locate the King of Plots, Esperaunce, at Eshtaime's Lapidaries, but find that he barely sees fit to recognize you exist. The loan payment is scattered about the shop floor in fallen coins, which he leaves for you to pick up. Swallow your pride and collect whatever gil you can find.
  • Having pathetically gathered payment from the King of Plots, your list next directs you to visit the Wise Miser. But who could this deep-thinking, gil-pinching person be? Visit Titinin if you require further assistance in tracking this debtor down.
  • Titinin has instructed you to search for the Wise Miser in the vicinity of the Quicksand.
  • In a side street by the Quicksand you find the Wise Miser, Naida Zamaida, who cheerfully gives you his payment in full with minimal hassle. The final debtor on your list is one Lady Lewena, though there are as many ladies in Ul'dah as there are dunes in the desert. Visit Titinin again for a hint on where she might be found.
  • The Lady Lewena, it so happens, is lady wife to a prosperous merchant and trader, and spends near all of her time at the Platinum Mirage seeking thrills. So much so, in fact, that she has come to be known as the Muse of the Mirage. Titinin informs you that you will likely find her on the premises. Perhaps you should begin your search by the main entrance...
  • You luckily happen across Lady Lewena near the Mirage's main entrance. However, before parting with her lord husband's hard-earned gil, she demands that you earn her payment by fighting in the Coliseum for her amusement. Travel to the Gladiators' Guild and discover what the bloodsands have in store for you.
  • You have been pitted against a veteran of the Coliseum. Put on a good show and claim victory to ensure that Lady Lewena makes good on her debt.
  • You have triumphed on the bloodsands of the Coliseum, and titillated Lady Lewena in the process. Take her payment and return to the Platinum Mirage to speak to Titinin.

Here There Be Pirates[]

Journal
  • Titinin has charged you with an important task involving the investigation of counterfeit chips at the Platinum Mirage. There seems to be no doubt that the culprits behind the crime are the pirates of Limsa Lominsa. Travel to the Astalicia and seek out the perpetrators.
  • While speaking to Waekbyrt aboard the Astalicia, a band of pirates from the crew known as the Kraken's Arms appear, led by the extremely intelligent and articulate Elezen, Captain Carvallain. He has offered to aid you in your search, but demands that the Mirage pay a hefty sum of gil for his information. Contact Titinin via linkpearl and tell him of this development.
  • Titinin has ordered you to head to the Mizzenmast in Limsa Lominsa while he approaches the Mirage's leaders with the information you have given him.
  • At the Mizzenmast, you come across U'mallibo the pirate and a pugilist newly come to Limsa Lominsa named Hurrey. It becomes clear that your meeting is no coincidence, as the two of them are there at the behest of Titinin. According to U'mallibo, the evidence you require in the counterfeiting case can be found aboard the Misery, the ship of the Kraken's Arms. Make your way to the Sailors Ward beyond the Southern Islands and steal about the ship.
  • You have stolen onto the Misery, vessel of the Kraken's Arms. Search for evidence of their counterfeiting operations.
  • You have defeated a group of pirates in the Misery's hold, and discovered the valuable evidence you were seeking. After escaping from the ship, Hurrey urges you to make a quick return to Ul'dah while he keeps any remaining Kraken's Arms busy. Report to the Platinum Mirage and speak to Titinin.
  • You have exceeded Titinin's wildest expectations by securing the counterfeit chip mold from the Misery. He promises an ample reward for your service. Speak to the other pugilists around the Mirage while your payment is being readied.
  • Use the power of the Echo on some of your fellow pugilists to see if there is anything that might be learned...
  • The Echo has shown to you a past which proves the complicity of several pugilists in the counterfeiting of the Mirage chips. Should you endanger your very life by revealing this dark secret of internal intrigue? For now, speak to Gagaruna about your reward for services rendered.

Two Sides to Every Chip[]

Journal
  • While speaking to Gagaruna, Titinin enters and asks you once again to collect a loan payment from Lady Lewena following another adventurer's failed attempt to do so. Perhaps she can be found again near the Platinum Mirage's main entrance...
  • At the entrance to the Platinum Mirage, you find Hurrey and Lady Lewena's handmaiden, both of whom seem concerned over the lady's ability to make her loan payment. Use the Echo to discover where Lady Lewena might be.
  • Through the Echo, you witnessed a scene in which Hurrey was serving as an escort to Lady Lewena. She mentioned traveling to the Silver Bazaar, to a certain plateau. But which one? Travel to the Silver Bazaar and search for Lady Lewena.
  • You discover Lady Lewena at one of the plateaus near the Silver Bazaar. With her are a number of pugilists protecting her, fighting against a thaumaturge of Arrzaneth Ossuary. Come to Lady Lewena's aid and see to it she does not come to harm.
  • After your victory, you witness Lady Lewena present the defeated thaumaturge with a hefty sum of gil. Orders of condemnation, special exceptions... You are not sure exactly what Lady Lewena might have done, but you learn that it was all in the name of boredom. She has also asked for an extension on her loan payment until her lord husband is returned. Return to the Platinum Mirage and speak to Titinin.
  • You have delivered Lady Lewena's word to Titinin. Payment of her outstanding loan to the Platinum Mirage is to be deferred until her lord husband returns from his mercantile ventures at sea. Go and speak to Gagaruna to receive your reward for services rendered.
