The Pterodactyl, also known as the Pteragon, is an enemy in Final Fantasy III, encountered in the Temple of Time inside the room where Noah's Lute is found. It can be a difficult enemy if the party faces it underleveled, but a level 30 or higher party should not have any trouble defeating it. Physical attacks are more than enough, while in the DS version, Aeroga works as well.

Etymology[]
Pterodactylus, meaning "winged finger", is a genus of pterosaurs, whose members are popularly known as pterodactyls. It was the first to be named and identified as a flying reptile.
