Changes: Proto fal'Cie Adam (boss)

Template:Images Template:FFXIII-2 multi Enemies Proto fal'Cie Adam is a boss in Final Fantasy XIII-2. A man-made fal'Cie created as a result of Proto Fal'Cie Project in 13 AF. It was supposed to act as a power source for Cocoon to make it float again. It somehow traveled back in time to 13 AF and influenced the AI responsible for its creation, therefore creating a loop and becoming a paradox itself. By doing so, it couldn't be destroyed as it ensured its creation and would always reappear after defeat. Only after Serah blamed Hope for this situation, it vanished for good. It was later revealed that it was recorded by the Oracle Drive. Hope, seeing Serah and Noel's fight against the Proto Fal'Cie, decided to abandon the project.

Strategy

This boss fight contains two phases:

Phase 1: When the fight start focus on killing the left and right manipulator as quick as you can. After those two are destroyed focus on killing the boss. The boss will fall soon after you staggered him. The best way to fight him in phase 1 is simply to use relentless assault and when you think you need some healing you can use a potion or switch to a paradigm with a healer (for example: diversity).

After you defeated the boss in the first phase you will see a brief cutscene and the fight goes on.

Phase 2: This time Adam is much stronger but the tactics remains the same. However this time the boss will not fall before the end of the first stagger so if the stagger almost ends, switch to a defensive paradigm, to save your party from a quite damaging attack. After the attack you can proceed like before and the boss will fall pretty soon after the second stagger.

After you defeated the boss on phase 2 there will be a cinemtic sequence action:

PS3: right,up,right,O, press repeatedly X,right and as last press repeatedly X

Xbox 360: right,up,right,B,press repeatedly A,right and as last press repeatedly A

Afer that you will get a live trigger in which you need to choose the right option or else you have to fight the boss all again. (spoiler, the correct choice is "Scream at hope")

Trivia

Fragment obtained after defeating Proto fal'Cie Adam states that several memory modules previously belonging to fal'Cie Eden were used in its creation. This may possibly explain why Adam wanted to obtain full power of the fal'Cie and desired to rule over people of Academia.
It is possible that Adam was also influenced by some Pulse fal'Cie as it looks like Anima. Also, in Academia 400 AF it transforms people into Pulse Cie'th rather than Sanctum Cie'th.
