Protectra (プロテア, Purotea?), also known as Proteda (プロテダ, Puroteda?), Protera, FOG2, or Shld2, is a second tier Protect spell in Final Fantasy.

Protera (FOG2 on the NES and Shld2 in Final Fantasy Origins) is a level 6 White Magic spell which increases the Defense of all allies by 16 points.

The spell can be bought at Crescent Lake and can be learned by the White Mage, White Wizard, and Red Wizard classes. In the GBA/PSP/iOS releases it costs 20 MP to cast.

Protectra is an enhanced version of the Protect spell. Protectra is a level 7 spell White Mages are capable of accessing, and upon casting, Protectra bestows Protect status to all party members in range.

Protectra (Proteda in Japanese) significantly raise target's physical resistance for a short time. It can be learned by Vanille (stage 7) and Oerba Yun Fang/Gameplay (stage 7). It costs 3 ATB to use.
