Template:Listen "Premonition" is a battle theme from Final Fantasy VIII, that plays during fights against sorceresses, namely Edea. It also plays on the first phase of the battle against Ultimecia. It shares much of the same central melody as the game's opening theme, "Liberi Fatali".
The word "premonition" means "a forewarning" or "a feeling of anticipation of or anxiety over a future event" referring to the game's fate theme where the SeeD is set to face off with Ultimecia.

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon
"Premonition" was remixed by Yuzo Takahashi as the track titled "Mysterious Black Mage". This track can only be heard in-game.
The Black Mages III: Darkness and Starlight
"Premonition" was rearranged in a hard-rock style and included in the Black Mages' third studio album.
