The following article is based on a subject that has not been officially named in any official Square Enix material; the current title is merely a placeholder.

Premium currency is a recurring element in select Final Fantasy mobile games. For titles that use premium currency, it operates over and above any other currencies used, often being difficult to earn and in many cases also being purchasable from within the game itself. Titles that offer premium currencies, therefore, may also permit the exchange of real-world currency so as to obtain them.

Premium currencies are often used to buy expansions and equipment that other in-game currencies cannot, such as recruiting additional units to the player party or expanding one of many inventories managed throughout the game.

Appearances[]

NOTE: Service has ended for this title.

Regalite, when purchased directly from the Shoppe screen, becomes Prime Regalite and is second in the order of precedence when purchasing gacha spins for units and weapons. However, some events have gacha that can only use Prime Regalite, even though the amount required may be less. Several packages are available, with many adding a smaller amount of regular Regalite as a bonus.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]

Gems, also known as Mog Coins in the Japanese version, are considered to be this game's premium currency. Unlike Mythril stones that are more easily earned through play, Gems cannot be earned. They must be bought while in an area that also accepts Mythril. Examples include Cid's Lab and Relic Draws. There are five Gem packages that can be bought; in the global release, 100 Gems cost US$0.99 plus applicable tax.

Magicite were used as a premium currency in all versions of the game. Often used to purchase card draws, expansions, and consumables such as the Phoenix Down, they were acquired in one of four ways:

  • as an item drop.
  • by direct purchase through the in-game shop.
  • as a reward in a treasure chest.
  • via the distiller, at a rate of 100 magicite per 16.5 real-time hours.
