Wristlet guard that raises Strength when equipped.

Description

The Power Wrist is an endgame arm guard in Final Fantasy IX that everyone besides Steiner and Freya can wear. It teaches Accuracy+, which ensures the character's Attack command will not miss. The wrist gives a level up bonus to the wearer's Strength, and is among the best equipment pieces to wear for level grinding.

Obtain[]

The Power Wrist is bought in Daguerreo for 5100 gil. It becomes available at the end of the game when Daguerreo's shops gain new wares.

Mechanics[]

The Power Wrist provides 30 physical Evasion and 10 Magic Evasion. The wrist gives a +2 bonus to the wearer's Strength when they level up with it equipped. When enough "bonuses" upon level up from gear have been accrued, the character gains a permanent stat increase. Strength is used in damage calculations and determines the character's HP growth.

Use[]

The Power Wrist is a good arm guard for the endgame for Zidane and Amarant, and perhaps also Quina, though the first two have likely mastered Accuracy+ already. The wrist's level up bonus is good if the player decides to level-grind, though grinding and min-maxing are unnecessary in a normal playthrough even when preparing for superbosses. For pure stat-raising reasons, N-Kai Armlet (Spirit +2) and the Power Wrist are the best options.

Though the guests from Tantalus can also equip the armlet, the player cannot see this in a normal playthrough.
