Portal Battle: Angeal Penance was a Seasonal Quest event in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, implied to be the first in a new series of challenges. It ran from May 28 through June 25, 2025. Alongside a new Escalation Challenge featuring the same boss, this event was folded into the "11 Million Downloads Celebration" campaign.
Summary[]
As a standard Seasonal Quest event, players fought Angeal Penance as adapted from Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- at progressive Solo and Co-op power levels, with additional quests to assist in various upgrades.
Event rewards[]
Players collected Penance Tails, Penance Shields, and Penance Wings for exchange in the event shops, where the featured items were the Penance Gloves for Tifa, the Penance Blade for Angeal and the recipes for Fire materia with the × (Cross) symbol. Attacker and Tank Role Memories were also included.
Spending 5,000 Stamina during the event period earned the "Portal Battle: Angeal Penance" Home Screen wallpaper.
Featured draws[]
This event offered several featured draws alongside its debut. The first draw offered Sephiroth's Serrated Remiges and Custom Suit. All draws during this event and for June 2025 offered the chance to obtain Matt's enhanced Ultimate Weapon, Gladius.
