Porom is a White Mage who can equip staves, bows and arrows, as well as hats, tunics, hoods, and robes. She has high magic stats but low physical stats.
Porom joins the party while Rosa has been kidnapped by Golbez. She will be the main healer until Tellah remembers all his spells. At this point, even if Tellah's White Magic overshadows Porom, she will have more MP and will last longer without the need of an Ether. She is also faster than him.
↑Depends on the augments in the character's battle menu afterward.
Abilities[]
Porom learns every White Magic spell, although some at different levels than Rosa. Porom learns her spells in the 3D remake at the same levels as prior releases, with the exception of Mini. Porom's Cry ability makes enemies easier to steal from. In the 3D remake, Cry instead halves all enemies' defenses. In the Complete Collection release, Cry may confuse all foes.
Porom also can use the Twincast attack, which allows her to cast spells with her brother Palom. The two can cast Pyroblast and Comet. In the GBA and PSP versions, it will also cast Twin Meteor if they equip the Twin Stars.
Porom joins Cecil Harvey to help the dwarves against the monsters pouring out of the Sealed Cave. She stays as the main healer for the rest of the interlude.
Stats[]
Porom joins the party at Level 34. This Porom is the Porom from the original Final Fantasy IV, therefore, she has the same stats table and the same level up possibilities.

Abilities[]
Porom returns with White Magic, Cry and Twincast, which function the same way as they do in Final Fantasy IV. She joins the party knowing all her spells up to Curaga and will continue to learn her spells at the same levels as in the original game.
In all 2D versions, if Porom's Tale is not imported into the Final Tale, she begins at level 25. She is available when the party reach the True Moon and her HP and MP are a little higher than a Porom who has to start at level 10 and then reaches level 25.

Young Stats[]
In the 3D remake, Young Porom can now reach level 99 due to the New Game Plus feature. Between Level 10 and 40, all her stats are the same (including HP and MP) as her adult counterpart. However after level 40, she shifts into her Final fantasy IV 2D table. Her HP growth seems unchanged while her MP growth seems a little lower. A level 50, Young Porom has 1964 HP and 473 MP.
When reaching level 40 in the 3D remake, Young Porom asks an unusually great amount of experience to level up. To reach level 41, she needs about 225,000 exp, which is more that an Adult Porom needs to level up from level 98 to level 99. If one levels her up and then follows the storyline to make Porom reach adulthood, this will create an Adult Porom with a negative amount of needed experience due to her needing less experience to level up. This negative amount means the game owes Porom the experience and she will recover it after gaining experience from a battle.
When importing an Adult Porom whose level exceeds 40 and who has been leveled up as an adult after level 40, she needs a great amount of experience to level up as Young Porom. This is because the game is adding all the experience that is missing between level 40 and the current level of the Adult Porom.
Abilities[]
In addition to her White Magic, Porom can use Pray, a former ability of Rosa's, which heals the party for a moderate amount of HP. In the Depths, it is possible to teach Dualcast to either Palom, Porom, or Leonora. In a flashback, both Porom and Palom retain Twincast, but during normal gameplay it is a Band ability relearned from an event in the True Moon's Subterrane.
Compared to Rosa, the game's only other dedicated White Mage, Porom has higher MP and Spirit, but her other stats are inferior. Porom also learns her White Magic at different levels than Rosa, learning some earlier and others later. Porom's higher Spirit and her potential to learn Dualcast make her a superior White Mage to Rosa, exchanging Rosa's offensive prowess with her bows for superior healing. However, Porom can still use Holy to function as an attacker.
