Poison is an element in Final Fantasy VI. It is a fairly rare status, the most common source perhaps being the Poison status, which will deal poison-elemental damage periodically to the afflicted. Poison damage tends to be ineffective against undead-type enemies, but be effective against human-type opponents. Animal suits for Strago and Relm protect against poison-elemental damage.

The Poison Rod also randomly casts the Poison spell when used for attacking and also casts the Poison spell when used as an item, and then breaks. The Scorpion Tail also randomly casts Bio when used for attacking. The Venom Claws also randomly cast Poison when used for attacking.
