The Plague (プレイグ, Pureigu?), also known as the Plague Horror, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy IV. It is often the strongest ahriman encountered, frequently appearing as a late-game boss. It frequently inflicts Doom to force players to fight it on a timer.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy IV[]

The Plague, also known as the Plague Horror, appears as a boss encountered in the Lunar Subterrane, guarding the Holy Lance. It starts the battle by casting Doom on the party, then continuously casting Haste on the party. In the 3D remake, it will group-cast Haste, and then cast Protect and Shell on itself, followed by healing itself for 2,000 HP each turn.
Final Fantasy VI[]

The Plague appears as a boss exclusive to the Advance and Matrix Software releases, encountered in the Dragons' Den. It drops Relm's ultimate weapon, the Angel Brush, upon defeat. It fights using Doom, Trine, Haste, Roulette, and Gaze. It will start by casting Doom on the entire party on its first turn, never to use the spell again, and then will alternate between Gaze, Trine, and a physical attack. It counters physical attacks with Haste on a party member, and magic attacks with Roulette.

The Plague appears as an enemy encountered in the Halfcombe region of Waloed.
