Pile Banger FF7

Pile Banger in Final Fantasy VII.

Knuckles that drive spikes into their target on impact to increase critical power.

Pile Banger (パイルバンカー, Pairu Bankā?, lit. Pilebunker), also known as Pilebunkers, is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy VII[]

Pile Banger is a high-ranked weapon for Barret, providing 90 Attack, 80 Atk%, Critical +3%, and three linked Materia slots with no growth. It is found in Shinra Bldg. shop during "Mako Cannon Rampage". If not obtained then, it is forever lost. Though it deals Punch damage and uses Barret's melee weapon animations, the game still considers the Pile Banger a long range weapon. This is presumed to be a glitch.

Etymology[]

A piledriver or pilebunker is a heavy duty construction tool used to hammer in piling stakes into the ground for deep ground foundation and building stability. Due to its piercing methods and powerful execution, they have been portrayed as a common weapon in robotics based science fiction due to such inspiration, but are not necessarily used by robots only. Pilebunkers are sometimes built into gauntlets as hand mounted mechanized weapons.
