Final Fantasy IV

Template:Sideicon Pig is a Black Magic spell with a casting time of 6, costs 1 MP and can be used by Palom, Rydia, Tellah, and Fusoya. It has a 10% accuracy in 2D versions, and 100% accuracy in 3D versions.

The Pig status disables the following commands: Summon, Darkness, Recall, Aim, Focus, Kick, Brace, Twincast, Bluff, Cry, Analyze, and Regen. It also disables all magic including monster magic other than the Black Magic spell Pig. White Magic users can still cast Esuna, but only outside of battle. In the PSP version the menu portrait for child Rydia, Palom, and Porom is a little different compared to the adult portrait featuring a piglet.

The Pig status severely reduces the afflicted unit's Attack power. It can be cured by using the Diet Food item. In addition, the Polymorph Rod staff may inflict the Pig status on one or all enemies when used as an item. The Piglet's Bamboo Sword in the Easy Type version has a chance of inflicting the Pig status when attacking. In the GBA & PSP release, the Piggy's Stick (GBA), Hog Call (PSP), and Pig's Bamboo Sword (The After Years) are a homage to the Piglet's Bamboo Sword that first appeared in the Easy Type version.

Some residents of Mythril are Pigs, and in Mysidia, a witch can turn the party into Pigs and back again (except in the DS version).

Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-

Template:Sideicon Pig returns as a Black Magic spell in the sequel of Final Fantasy IV. The imposter Rydia along with Palom and Rydia already known the spell. It inflicts Pig to one or all enemies at the cost of 1 MP.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Template:Sideicon Pig retains all of its features from Final Fantasy IV, and is learnable by Rydia at level 20. Fusoya, Palom, and Biggs all start with the spell. The Polymorph Rod makes a return, along with it the Queen's Whip can turn enemies into Pig when attacking. There is also an unused weapon called Pig's Bamboo Sword.

The Band ability, Call Me Queen, can transform one enemy into a pig.
