Cecil (Paladin Piggy) - Status
FF4 PSP Pig Field

Pig (ポーキー, Pōkī?) is a Black Magic spell exclusive to Final Fantasy IV which causes the Pig Status Effect. It costs 1 MP and can be only learned by Palom, Rydia, and Fusoya. It has a 100% accuracy (10% in non-DS versions, 40% in Easy Type).

The Pig status disables the following commands: Summon, Darkness, Recall, Aim, Focus, Kick, Brace, Twincast, Bluff, Cry, Analyze, and Regen. It also disables all magic including monster magic other than the Black Magic spell Pig. White Magic users can still cast Esuna, but only outside of battle.

The Pig status severely reduces the afflicted unit's Attack power. It can be cured by using the Diet Food item. In addition, the Polymorph Rod staff may inflict the Pig status on one or all enemies when used as an item. The Piglet Sword in the Easytype version has a chance of inflicting the Pig status when attacking. In the GBA & PSP release, the Piggy's Stick (GBA), Hog Call (PSP), and Pig's Bamboo Sword (The After Years) are a homage to the Piglet Sword of the Easytype version.

Some residents of Mythril are Pigs, and in Mysidia, a witch can turn the party into Pigs (and back again except in the DS version).
