Icon from the Final Fantasy XIII series representing the Physical element.

Physical, also known as Damage and Weapon (武器, Buki?), appears in a few games as a element in the Final Fantasy series. This should not be confused with attacks made by the Attack command which are considered non-elemental in numerous games, except for those specified below.

In the games that this element appears, all physical attacks falls under this element including all damage caused by weapons and special physical attacks skills. Usually, the spell Protect can reduce the damage received from physical attacks. The opposite of this element is Magical.

Final Fantasy Legend II[]

The element is called Weapon, it halves damage from attacks made by weaponry. The Ninja gauntlet and Parasuit can be equip to provide resistance against weaponry, these two are the only piece of equipment that provides such protection. Mutants can naturally learn the Weapon, and monsters can gain the ability by eating meat from stronger monsters.

Final Fantasy Legend III[]

The element is called Damage, unlike the previous Final Fantasy Legend games, all physical attacks which includes special physical abilities and weapons are classified as Damage elemental.

There are a few exception such as the Psi weaponry and the Mystic Swords, elemental weapons, and the status inflicting abilities that do not deal damage. Many end-game enemies are strong against physical attacks, forcing the player to find other methods of defeating them, this also includes numerous bosses.

Vagrant Story[]

Physical is opposed to all the Elemental affinities and Light and Dark too. When Physical goes up, it has a tendency to be very destructive to other affinities, sometimes reducing two or more at a time.
