Phantom Rush (むげんとうぶ? or 夢幻闘舞, Mugen Tōbu?, lit. Phantasm Battle Dance), also known as Bum Rush, is a recurring ability in the series. It is often an extremely powerful physical attacks, utilized by the Monk class or characters similar to the Monk class. It is generally associated with Sabin Rene Figaro.

Phantom Rush (called Bum Rush in the earlier versions) is the ultimate Blitz ability, obtained either by going to Duncan's Cabin in the World of Ruin with Sabin in the party regardless of his level, or by reaching level 70. It can be used by inputting

, and deals massive non-elemental magical damage to one enemy with a spell power of 128 while ignoring the target's Defense.
The SNES Classic releases dim down the effect to reduce the risk of seizures (this effect first appeared in the Wii Virtual Console version).
Final Fantasy Type-0[edit | edit source]
Phantom Rush is an ability for Eight that requires 3 AP and is available after learning Untouchable. Eight will dodge all enemy attacks.
Phantom Rush: AG ↓ requires 5 AP and is available after learning Phantom Rush. It reduces the AG cost of Phantom Rush.

Description
Phantom Rush is a Fusion ability exclusive to the Warriors of Darkness, used by combining Dropkick with Trance. It costs 34 MP to use and deals 6 hits of non-elemental physical damage to one target with 100% accuracy and x2.3 the power of a normal attack each hit. The final hit will always deal more damage than the first five hits of the attack.
