Peridot (ペリドット, Peridotto?) is a recurring item in the series.


Final Fantasy IX[]

Restores HP. It cannot be used in the field. Equip as an Add-on.


Peridot is an item and an Add-on, obtained by synthesizing it on disc 4 at Daguerreo, Black Mage Village, and in Memoria at Hades for 100 gil, an Ore, and a Soft. It can also be found in the Abandoned Beach Chocograph (x12) or Cold Lagoon Chocograph (x15), dropped from Griffin, Mistodon, Stroper, Grenade, and Tiamat (Crystal), stolen from Stroper, or received as an reward from Ramuh at Pinnacle Rocks as part of the story. It teaches the abilities Ramuh for Dagger and Thundara for Vivi, and when used as an item, restores HP equal to the number of Peridots in the player's inventory x68.

In addition, the more Peridots in the player's inventory, the stronger Ramuh's Judgment Bolt becomes, as per the following formula:

Peridot is a synthesis item used to make Velvet Cuffs, Peridot Earring, and Peridot Ring. It can be obtained from the "Beast from the East" quest. It can be bought for 56,160 gil from Bornahn in Al Zahbi and Visala in Bastok Markets. It can also be bought for 8,000 gil from Teerth in Bastok Markets when the player reaches Apprentice Rank.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings[]

Peridot is a low-ranked Green Gemstone that can be Scavenged from Sparkling Stone on Tormelados, Isle of the Megalith and Muruc Cahuac Skysea or bought at the Sky Saloon in Chapter 4 for 570 gil. It can be used to craft Vesper Pole, Wavefront, and Runeblade.
