The Parallel Arrows are ammunition for bows in Final Fantasy XII. They are the second weakest ammunition for bows without any special properties, but bows cannot be equipped without owning some kind of arrows. Owning the Parallel Arrows means the player can use an unlimited amount, and arrows do not need a license to be equipped alongside a bow.

Obtain[]

Original[]

The Parallel Arrows are not sold in shops, but sell for 200 gil. They are found in a treasure in Cerobi Steppe's Crossfield Map 04 Cerobi Steppe and made in the bazaar set Bow & Bodkin alongside a Shortbow for a Bat Fang, two Rat Pelts, and two Dark Stones. The set costs 600 gil to buy. Bat Fangs are easiest obtained from Steelings, Rat Pelts are obtained from Dire Rats, and Dark Stones are obtained from various undead and dark-elemental enemies, such as the Skeletons.

Zodiac[]

The Parallel Arrows are sold for 400 gil by the Baknamy merchant in the Necrohol of Nabudis. They are also found in treasures in Ozmone Plain's Haulo Greens (75% chance to spawn, 50% chance the treasure is an item, 50% the item treasure is Parallel Arrows without the Diamond Armlet equipped), Paramina Rift's Frozen Brook (75% chance to spawn, 70% chance the treasure is an item, 50% the item treasure is Parallel Arrows without the Diamond Armlet equipped), Phon Coast's Cape Uahuk (70% chance to spawn, 50% chance the treasure is an item, 50% the item treasure is Parallel Arrows without the Diamond Armlet equipped), and Tchita Uplands' Sundered Earth (45% chance to spawn, 30% chance the treasure is an item, 50% the item treasure is Parallel Arrows without the Diamond Armlet equipped).

The Parallel Arrows are also found in the Trial Mode Stage 10 treasure with the Diamond Armlet equipped.

The Parallel Arrows are still obtained through the bazaar set Bow & Bodkin for the same items as before but for a lower cost: 400 gil.

Use[]

The Parallel Arrows is the second weakest set of arrows, adding 2 points to the bow's power without any added statuses or elements. They outclass the previous Onion Arrows and the player should equip them to replace them, but once they have the superior Bamboo Arrows, they can be replaced in turn. The player can also use the Parallel Arrows instead of the elemental Fiery Arrows if the enemy resists fire damage.

The arrows are only useful to procure in the Zodiac versions if the player is using an Archer, although the secret bow Seitengrat does not require a license.
