Pallicant is a Rare Game enemy found in the Ridorana Cataract in Final Fantasy XII. It is a more powerful form of the Mallicant. It has the crossbow Gastrophetes for stealing.
In the Zodiac versions, one is also fought alongside four Deathclaws in Trial Mode Stage 43. Pallicant will appear by going to the end of the map (where the treasures are) and returning. In this battle, it yields equipment: Penetrator Crossbow (uncommon drop), Kaiser Shield (rare drop), Elixir (very rare drop), Minerva Bustier (common steal), Magepower Shishak (uncommon steal), Dragon Mail (rare steal), and Gastrophetes (poach).

Etymology[]
The Japanese name is possibly translated to friend, brother, comrade, fellow, or partner, commonly associated with horses; in Latin pālus means stick or pile. There is also the phrase to pale in one's face from shock or fear, and the "pale horse" is a biblical representation associated with death in the apocalypse. It can be related to pall, which is a cloth spread over a coffin, hearse, or tomb, and also refers to a dark cloud or covering of smoke, dust, or similar matter. Also, in ancient Roman religion, Pales was a deity of shepherds, flocks, and livestock.
