The Paladin is a job in Final Fantasy Dimensions obtained during the seventh chapter of the Tome of the Light. It is exclusive to the Warriors of Light and functions as a defensive version of the base Warrior job.
The Paladin has access to the Holy Blade skillset by default and allows characters to use command outside of the assigned job once learning the appropriate passive abilities. The Holy Blade command allows the user to use skills that focus on defending themselves and taking damage for their allies. They also have the ability to perform decent physical attacks such as Charge and Ivory Blade, and use defensive skills such as Mighty Guard. Once the job learns the Doublehand passive, they can also have the ability to deal heavier damage with their physical attacks.
The Paladin can be used to support the party and also has the potential to be a powerful damage dealing job, especially when having access to the weapons such as the Ultima-type weapons available during the end-game portions. In addition, their command arsenal is needed to craft powerful booning fusion abilities, such as Alabaster Veil and Mighty Wall.
Despite being named Paladin in English, the job is named Knight in Japanese. The two job names, along with its skillsets, are inspired by the Final Fantasy XI version of the Paladin, with Gawain donning the Paladin's Gallant artifact armor from the game.
When any of the Warriors of Light use this job, they become clad in knight armor. In the original Japanese cellphone releases, male characters have their armor designs loosely based on the Knight job sprites from the Famicom version of Final Fantasy III. Female characters wear single piece leotards and a cape, reminiscent of Celes Chere's sprite from Final Fantasy VI.
