Cause Poison, Darkness, and Silence

Description

Pain is a high-level spell drawn only from stronger enemies, such as Tri-Face or Elnoyle. It can be refined from curse spikes with Diablos's ST Mag-RF. It inflicts Darkness, Silence, and Poison simultaneously. Junctioning Pain to ST-Atk-J will add the three statuses to every attack, while junctioning it to ST-Def-J defends the character from the statuses.

Casting Pain in battle increases compatibility with Siren by 0.6, but lowers compatibility with Cerberus and Carbuncle by 0.2. Curiously, casting Pain doesn't raise compatibility with Doomtrain, unlike all other status spells.

Final Fantasy X

Template:Sideicon

Deals damage and Death to an enemy.

Description

Pain is an ability used by the aeon Anima. The player gains access to this ability when summoning Anima with Yuna. Pain is Anima's special attack that inflicts Instant Death and also deals damage to the few enemies immune to death spells, often 99,999 with high enough stats. Its a Rank 6 command which means it has double the recovery time of a normal attack.

During the battle with Seymour, Anima can use the Pain ability to inflict instant death on all who are not immune to it. Pain can also be used by Belgemine's Anima.

Dark Anima has its own version of Pain which functions the same as an ordinary Pain, except it cannot be avoided and bypasses immunity to instant death.

Final Fantasy X-2

Template:Sideicon Anima uses Pain when fought against on the path to the Farplane. It works differently than in Final Fantasy X, this time inflicting non-elemental damage and various status effects; namely Silence, Blind, Itchy and reducing strength, defence, magic, magic defence, Accuracy, and Evasion by 1 level.

Final Fantasy XIII

Template:Sideicon

Template:Sideicon Pain inflicts the status Pain on a target, preventing the usage of close-range attacks, and also deals Wound damage. It is exclusive to Paradigm Pack monsters.
