Owzer's in-game sprite Owzer (アウザー, Auzā?) is a morbidly obese non-player character in Final Fantasy VI. He is the richest man living in Jidoor, and is an avid art collector.

Story

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

He is not seen until the World of Ruin, where it is assumed that he purchased a priceless work of art picturing a woman. However, he also purchased Lakshmi, an esper. As a result, a demon, Chadarnook, possessed the painting. Owzer hires Relm Arrowny to take care of the situation, but she could not do it without the help of the player party. After Chadarnook is defeated, Owzer gives the Lakshmi magicite to the party.

Spoilers end here.

Trivia

  • In the Dawn of Souls, 20th Anniversary and iOS remakes of the original Final Fantasy, Owzer is one of the automatic names the player can choose for the Monk Job.
  • The game data contains dummied out dialogue where the party must convince Owzer to allow Relm to join the player party. Why this scene is dummied out isn't clear.
