The Ouroboros (ウロボロス, Uroborosu?), also known as the Uroboros or Uroburos, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy III.

The Ouroboros appears as an enemy encountered in Lake Dohr and the Saronia Catacombs. It is a weak enemy, but can be dangerous as its regular attack can inflict Petrify on hit.
Final Fantasy VI[]
The Ouroboros, also known as the Uroboros or Uroburos, appears as an enemy encountered in the Phoenix Cave. Its defenses are high, but it has low HP so it's not too difficult to defeat with Ice-elemental attacks. It attacks with Bio and the Zombie-inducing Negatouch.

Etymology[]
Ouroboros is Greek for "tail-devourer". It is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon swallowing its own tail and forming a circle. It most commonly symbolizes cyclicality, unity, or infinity.
