Osafune is a low-ranked katana, and is the second weakest katana, with the Kotetsu being weaker. It requires 35 LP to use and has an Attack of 54. All katana have 2.39s charge, and 1.2s action time, making them average what it comes to attacking speed. It can be bought from Jahara, Mt Bur-Omisace, and Rabanastre for 4,800 gil.
In the Zodiac versions, it now provides 26 Attack, 17 Evade, 31 CT, 20% combo rate, and requires the Katana 1 license for 35 LP. It can be bought in Rabanastre, Bhujerba, and Dreadnought Leviathan for 1,300 gil, or found as a treasure in the Lhusu Mines (Shaft Entry). It can be equipped by the Bushi class.
A katana with a blade forged of the finest iron sand by master swordsmith Nagamitsu Osafune.
The Osafune (Bizen Boat in the PS version) is the third weakest katana. It has an attack power of 9, weapon defense of 15%, and can be bought in Chapter 2 for 7,000 gil and found with the Treasure Hunter ability inside Lionel Castle as rare treasure. The katana's Iaido ability is called Verse of Oblivion, which damages the target's MP.

A masterpiece made by a swordsmith from the land of Wa, which vanished centuries ago. It is forged from mythril steel in place of the special steel he usually used. The secret of its making was passed on from master to apprentice, down to the present day.
The Osafune is Gilgamesh's level 30 exclusive weapon. It provides +40 Attack, +41 Bravery, -2 Defense, and EX Force Absorption +3%. It can be traded for 61,000 gil, an Uchigatana, a Scarletite, and Giant's Desire x5.
Vaan wields the Final Fantasy XII version of the Osafune in battle.
A katana created by a craftsman who founded his own school. He took in many pupils in order to leave his skills as a blacksmith for posterity. All of his students currently work as a group, producing this highly prized blade as a brand name item. Poor quality mass-reproductions can occasionally be found, but true collectors know to look for the osafune's certified traditional finish.
Osafune is a Katana obtained by crafting it using 840 gil, x7 Thickened Hides, x3 Otherworldly Bones, x5 Cursed Tusks, x10 Silver Ores, and x1 Lumber, and by finding it in Lost Village of Marlo. It provides 42 ATK.
