Osafune-ffxii

Osafune as it appears in Final Fantasy XII.

The problem with iron helms is the weight and the heat - and the fact that this sword cuts right through them.

Osafune (備前長船, Bizen Osafune?), also known as Bizen's Pride and Bizen Boat, is a recurring weapon in the series. It is often a low-ranked katana.

Appearances

Final Fantasy V

Katana forged by a master swordsmith. Can be used two-handed.

Description

Osafune, originally called Bizen's Pride, is a low-ranked katana, usable by Freelancers, Samurais, and Gladiators. It has an Attack power of 48, a hit rate of 61, and a 12% chance to land a critical hit. It can be bought in Castle Surgate for 8,800 gil.

Final Fantasy XI

The Bizen-osafune is a level 95 Great Katana usable only by Samurai. It can be obtained from the Voidwatch Notorious Monster named Uptala in Ve'Lugannon Palace. Its base damage is 110, its delay is 420, and it adds 10 to all of the wielder's basic stats (STR, DEX, VIT, AGI, INT, MND, CHR).

Final Fantasy XII

Osafune is a low-ranked katana, and is the second weakest Katana in the game, with the Kotetsu being weaker. It requires 35 LP to use, costs 4,800 gil to buy, and has an Attack of 54. All katana have 2.39s charge, and 1.2s action time, making them average what it comes to attacking speed. It is sold in Jahara, Mt. Bur-Omisace, and Rabanastre.

In the International Zodiac Job System version, only the Mononofu class may equip the Osafune, by unlocking the Katana 1 license for 35 LP.

Final Fantasy Tactics

A katana with a blade forged of the finest iron sand by master swordsmith Nagamitsu Osafune.

Description

The Osafune is the third weakest katana in the game. It has an attack power of 9, weapon defense of 15%, and can be bought in Chapter 2 for 7,000 gil and found with the Treasure Hunter ability inside Lionel Castle as rare treasure. In the PlayStation version it is called Bizen Boat. The katana's Iaido ability is called Verse of Oblivion, which damages the target's MP.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Masterful sword that can cut through an iron helm.

Description

Osafune is a mid-level Katana, and teaches the ability Earth Veil. It provides 35 Attack and 5 Defense. It can be bought from Cyril and Muscadet for 6,400 gil and from any other town for 7,200 gil.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Osafune is a low-level katana and teaches Iai Blow to Parivir and Earth Veil to Ninja. It provides 34 Attack and 2 Defense, and can be bought for 880 gil in the shop after creating it in the Bazaar after using a Water Sigil, Zincatite, and Leucojum.

Bravely Default

A masterpiece made by a swordsmith from the land of Wa, which vanished centuries ago. It is forged from mythril steel in place of the special steel he usually used. The secret of its making was passed on from master to apprentice, down to the present day.
