Orochi Rod (おろちのロッド, Orochi no Roddo?, lit. Orochi's Rod) is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series associated with Oerba Dia Vanille. It is a rod with a headpiece that resembles a pair of antlers and the body consists of four long wires with hooks that deal damage to enemies by latching on and pulling, similar to a fishing rod.

Description

Orochi Rod is a second tier weapon for Vanille. It is upgraded from Rod of Thorns using a Perovskite. Starting at level 13 and capping at 61, its Strength and Magic stats scale equally from 100 to 436. It can be upgraded to Nirvana using a Trapezohedron.

Yamata no Orochi (八岐の大蛇?, lit. Eight-branched great serpent) was a legendary 8-headed and 8-tailed Japanese dragon that was slain by the Shintou storm-god Susano'o.
