Long Gui.

The oretoise class is a type of feral creature found in Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2.

They are turtle-like animals found on Cocoon and Gran Pulse. They are massive opponents and naturally appear on Archylte Steppe. They possess some of the highest HP totals as well as very high Strength and Magic and have access to powerful abilities. Long Gui is a superboss in both of his appearances.

An oretoise skeleton in the Dead Dunes in Lightning Returns.

  • An oretoise skeleton can be seen in the desert of the Dead Dunes in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
  • If one edits their Final Fantasy XIII to enable the full bestiary, a dummied Oretoise is unveiled, called Wurtzitoise. It is a variation of the Adamantortoise model with shiny bluegreen bits on the sides and broken tusks, being a level 8 enemy boasting 1,640,000 HP. Its two forelegs can be disabled like with the bigger Oretoises and it would have dropped a Platinum Ingot and a Dark Matter. The only remnant of this enemy in the game may be the Wurtzite Bangle, which is an improved version of the Adamant Bangle, perhaps alluding to the names of Adamantortoise and Wurtzitoise. Wurtzitoise may have been intended to be version Adamantortoises become when Adamantoises become Long Gui and Adamanchelids become Shaolong Gui. In the final game Adamantortoises become Long Gui, same as with Adamantoises.
