The Omega Weapon is a superboss found in the Dragons' Den in Final Fantasy VI Game Boy Advance and subsequent releases. Once the Kaiser Dragon has been defeated, revisiting its lair will reveal Omega Weapon in its place. The Omega Weapon is a stronger version of the Ultima Buster. Defeating Omega Weapon in the mobile/Steam version earns the Congratulations! achievement.
Stats
Battle
Like Kaiser Dragon, Omega Weapon regenerates when killed and thus has a much higher HP total than its stats state. Compared to Kaiser, Omega's attack patterns are less diverse. Omega Weapon uses Lv. 3 Confuse, Lv. 4 Flare, and Lv. 5 Death. The only status attacks Omega Weapon uses are Freezing Dust and Delta Attack, and it uses them rarely.
Omega Weapon's attacks almost always hit everyone: Gravity Bomb, Launcher, and Heartless Angel can quickly weaken the party. Every so often Omega Weapon will slow down its attacks, gaining the Protect, Shell and Haste statuses, and begins charging a strong attack on its next turn. The attack depends on which "life" Omega Weapon is on: Grand Delta, Mind Blast, or Forsaken. Omega has fewer "lives" than Kaiser, and thus should fall faster.
Strategy
It is best to have upwards of 8,000 HP to be safe. Diabolos and its level up bonuses make this an easy target.
It is recommended to have armor that absorbs elemental damage, or barring this, at least nullifies or resists elements. Party members should not be at a level indivisible by 3, 4 or 5 to avoid Omega's level-based damage. Ribbons are not as important as they were when facing Kaiser. Other good relics to equip are Miracle Shoes and Celestriads.
Having a mage on standby to cast Curaga is helpful. Beneficial statuses like Protect, Shell, and Haste and Reraise are useful. Attacks with the Master's Scroll and the Ultima Weapon are effective, as is dual-casting Ultima. Abuse of Quick is advised.

Nightmare Omega Weapon appears as the boss of the Omega Drive Nightmare Dungeon, the final challenge to be defeated to earn the Omega Drive Record Crystal.
Behind the scenes
In Bahamut Lagoon, the sprite that is shared between Omega Weapon, Ultima Weapon, and Ultima Buster was used and modified for some of the Icedrake-class dragons, namely the Saint Weapon and Black Buster.
Etymology
Omega (capital: Ω, lowercase: ω; Greek Ωμέγα) is the twenty-fourth and last letter of the Greek alphabet, representing a longer Latin "o" as well as the "oo" and "ou" IPA vowel clusters. In mathematics, it is synonymous with a set's end or limit. In physics, uppercase omega is the SI abbreviation for the ohm, a unit of electrical resistance.
