Old Sharlayan is the capital of the nation Sharlayan in Final Fantasy XIV, made accessible in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. It serves as the expansion's starting city hub and the home base of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn during the main scenario.

Landmarks[]

The Leveilleur Estate[]

An elegant mansion three centuries old that is the ancestral home of the Leveilleur family.

The Scholar[]

A statue of Thaliak, the Scholar that oversees the main harbour of Sharlayan. At the foot of the statue is a door that leads to a chamber where the ceremony for annointing new Archons takes place.

Noumenon[]

Parent institution to the Great Gubal Library, this facility is the foremost repository of written knowledge both general and esoteric. Though the upper floors are open to the general public, lower levels are only available to those who have obtained the mark of the Archon, and the forbidden sections which are only accessible to those under the direct control of the Forum.

The Studium[]

The foremost educational institution in Sharlayan.

The Rostra[]

This building serves as the main meeting hub of the Forum, where they discuss matters in regard to national policy, from staple food to the threat of war.

The Last Stand[]

The only cafe and restaurant in all of Sharlayan, so named as the last bastion of culinary art in a city of scholars who care only for nutritional value.

The Baldesion Annex[]

Once a branch office of the Students of Baldesion, it has been repurposed as their main headquarters after the Isle of Val was moved to the other side of the world. The main hall serves as a gathering place for the Scions during the main scenario, while players can retire to an inn room in the Andron.

The Dark Cells[]

A prison for criminals to be detained or to await trial. The location is unknown but is described as being dark and isolated. Mace Byrde was placed in these cells for leaving Sharlayan illegally.

Psysis Technon[]

A healing institute of the sages, those who are sick are brought here to be healed and taken care of.

Musical themes[]

The daytime theme for the city is "The Ewer Brimmeth" while the nighttime theme is "The Nautilus Knoweth". A rearrangement of "The Day Will Come" plays inside the Baldesion Annex.
