Odin is an optional boss in Final Fantasy Dimensions. He can be encountered and acquired inside Odin's Castle. The battle is allusion to Final Fantasy V, whose Odin was fought similarly under a countdown.

Stats Edit

Battle Edit

FFD Zantetsuken

At the start of battle, Odin will start a countdown from 5. Every time he counts, he attacks. When Odin gets to 0, he will use Zantetsuken. Odin is not a hard opponent as his moves, except for Zantetsuken, are not powerful; Odin's attack will do about 600 damage to a front-row member, and Slice 'n Dice will do ~800. Gungnir can hit hard, but it's a magical attack and thus doesn't hurt a Mage much, especially a Mage placed in the back row.

Zantetsuken targets all allies and can either kill or reduce one's HP to under 10. After the second Zantetsuken, he will count from 3.

Strategy Edit

Odin only uses Zantetsuken when he counts 0, and so when he's at 1, the player should ensure Matoya is ready for a Cure Waltz. If Matoya is Knocked Out then the player should use a Phoenix Down on her and cast Cure Waltz.

Etymology Edit

In Germanic mythology, Odin (from Old Norse Óðinn) is a widely revered god. In Norse mythology, from which stems most of our information about the god, Odin is associated with healing, death, royalty, the gallows, knowledge, battle, sorcery, poetry, frenzy, and the runic alphabet, and is the husband of the goddess Frigg.
