Oh, shut up and help me remodel the Odin: Vanquisher of Souls page!
Odin: Vanquisher of Souls was a seasonal event in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. Along with the event The Maelstrom Tower Rampage of Ruin and the debut of an Escalation Challenge against Odin, it was part of the game's 1.5 Year Anniversary celebration.
Story[]
Scenario: "According to Nibelheim legend, it is said that Odin stands guard at the gates to the Land of the Dead. Defeat the god who has battled warriors for millennia searching for a worthy challenger, and escape the realm of the dead!"
Summary: In Wutai, the party helps Yuffie use flowers to decorate the site where her people were massacred by Shinra. She says that when she was a kid, she used to look for the people who died, and Tifa and Vincent start chatting about the folklore of the Land of the Dead, which is said to be somewhere beyond Mt. Nibel. Yuffie gives Vincent a flower and runs off with the others. Vincent tells Tifa that anyone who goes to the Land of the Dead will meet Odin, who looks after the gates, but he'll kill anyone who finds him. He'll let them into the Land of the Dead. Tifa says there are supposedly gates all over the world, but you can only see them if you're dead. Odin shows up out of the blue and challenges them. He decides Vincent is a good enough opponent, but not Tifa, and slashes her. Tifa finds herself on the edge of the Land of the Dead, where monsters dressed up as Biggs, Wedge and Jessie attack her. The spirits of Biggs, Wedge and Jessie watch on, but they can't help her. Vincent finds himself in the past of Mt. Nibel, before the mako reactor was built. There he meets young Sephiroth and young Angeal, who've also been challenged and displaced by Odin. Sephiroth wants to split up and look for Odin, while Angeal wants to help Vincent find Tifa. They decide to stick together. Vincent says that Odin sends away those whose time hasn't come yet, and he's worried about what that might mean for Tifa. Odin shows up out of the blue and gives the trio the Garments of the Worthy, before challenging them to another battle. In the meantime, a Nebulous Soul helps Biggs, Wedge and Jessie to contact Tifa somehow. Tifa realises she has to get to the Mako Fountain, where Vincent, Angeal and Sephiroth defeat Odin one more time and meet Tifa. However, Odin will only let Tifa go if she wins. The Nebulous Soul gives her worthy clothing and Tifa beats Odin. It turns out the Nebulous Soul is an Ancient Warrior who went up against Odin millennia ago.

Odin: "More... I require more... My blade thirsts for blood. I have fought for centuries...millennia...and yet... I must continue to seek those who are worthy."
Biggs: "A soul... This is what eventually happens to people after they've been here long enough."
Nebulous Soul: "I assure you, not everyone here will meet with my fate. But more importantly, mustn't you save your friend?"
Ancient Warrior: "And in so doing you were our salvation. You inspired us to become stronger, to become better. And for that, we are filled with gratitude.[...] Continue to walk your own path, and we will continue to watch over you."

Event rewards[]
This event featured Silver Horseshoes, Golden Horseshoes, and Horns as exchange currency for the shop, where the featured weapons were Yuffie's Risanautr and the Hrotti rapier for Matt.
During the event, the 1.5 Year Anniv. Panel mission was available with various rewards, most notably the "Worthy Adversaries" wallpaper.
Through Event Missions, it was possible to acquire the Wallpaper "Vanquisher of Souls".
Featured draws[]
This event featured four Stamp Card draws featuring the Gear of the Worthy sets. Volume 1 debuted the Cape and Blade of the Worthy for Sephiroth. Volume 2 added the Coat and Gun for Vincent. Volume 3 featured the Armor and Gauntlets for Tifa. Volume 4 featured the Greatsword and Garb for Angeal. All draws for this event and throughout the month of March 2025 also featured the Ultimate Weapon Death Penalty for Vincent.
Behind the scenes[]
Odin debuted as a single summon on April 9, 2025.
