The Nutkin (ナッツイーター, Nattsuītā?, lit. Nuts Eater), also known as the Nut Eater, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series. This nut-craving critter made its debut in Final Fantasy V.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy V[]
The Nutkin, also known as the Nut Eater, appears an enemy encountered on the world map around the Tycoon and Wind Shrine, and later in the Jachol Cave. It may also appear in the Sealed Temple exclusive to the Advance and Matrix Software releases. It is a harmless foe and poses no threat, but its far more dangerous cousin, the Skull Eater, may appear in its place in the latter locations.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
The Nutkin appears as a minion obtained primarily from the Treasure Hunt, via Unhidden Leather Maps or The Aquapolis. When used in Lord of Verminion, it is a critter-type unit whose ability "Skull Eater" sets a trap that reduces the movement speed of affected enemies.
Aside from the minion obtainable by players, an unnamed Nutkin also frequently accompanies Thancred Waters in his travels.
